In this paper, we propose multi-view object detection methodology by using specific extended class of haar-like filters, which apparently detects the object with high accuracy in the unconstraint environments. There are several object detection techniques, which work well in restricted environments, where illumination is constant and the view angle of the object is restricted. The proposed object detection methodology successfully detects faces, cars, logo objects at any size and pose with high accuracy in real world conditions. To cope with angle variation, we propose a multiple trained cascades by using the proposed filters, which performs even better detection by spanning a different range of orientation in each cascade. We tested the proposed approach by still images by using image databases and conducted some evaluations by using video images from an IP camera placed in outdoor. We tested the method for detecting face, logo, and vehicle in different environments. The experimental results show that the proposed method yields higher classification performance than Viola and Jones’s detector, which uses a single feature for each weak classifier. Given the less number of features, our detector detects any face, object, or vehicle in 15 fps when using 4 megapixel images with 95% accuracy on an Intel i7 2.8 GHz machine. 2011 Elsevier B.V. Multi-View Face Detection in Open Environments using Gabor Features and Neural Networks
Multi-view face detection in open environments is a challenging task, due to the wide variations in illumination, face appearances and occlusion. In this paper, a robust method for multi-view face detection in open environments, using a combination of Gabor features and neural networks, is presented. Firstly, the effect of changing the Gabor filter parameters (orientation, frequency, standard d...
متن کاملTraffic sign classification using error correcting techniques
Traffic sign classification is a challenging problem in Computer Vision due to the high variability of sign appearance in uncontrolled environments. Lack of visibility, illumination changes, and partial occlusions are just a few problems. In this paper, we introduce a classification technique for traffic signs recognition by means of Error Correcting Output Codes. Recently, new proposals of cod...
متن کاملA Multi-Stage Approach to Fast Face Detection
A multi-stage approach — which is fast, robust and easy to train — for a face-detection system is proposed. Motivated by the work of Viola and Jones [1], this approach uses a cascade of classifiers to yield a coarse-to-fine strategy to reduce significantly detection time while maintaining a high detection rate. However, it is distinguished from previous work by two features. First, a new stage ...
متن کاملIMPLEMENTATION OF EXTENDED KALMAN FILTER TO REDUCE NON CYCLO-STATIONARY NOISE IN AERIAL GAMMA RAY SURVEY
Gamma-ray detection has an important role in the enhancement the nuclear safety and provides a proper environment for applications of nuclear radiation. To reduce the risk of exposure, aerial gamma survey is commonly used as an advantage of the distance between the detection system and the radiation sources. One of the most important issues in aerial gamma survey is the detection noise. Various...
متن کاملAu th or ' s pe rs on al co py Multi - view face and eye detection using discriminant features q
Multi-view face detection plays an important role in many applications. This paper presents a statistical learning method to extract features and construct classifiers for multi-view face detection. Specifically, a recursive nonparametric discriminant analysis (RNDA) method is presented. The RNDA relaxes Gaussian assumptions of Fisher discriminant analysis (FDA), and it can handle more general ...
